Mr. Shoummo Acharya, the Managing Director and CEO of eTrans Solutions Private Limited is one of the most active leaders in the field of transportation infrastructure and logistics. A Chemical Engineer from Jadavpur University, Shoummo has a formidable reserve of experience in retail sales of petroleum products, advertising, public relations and freight forwarding. He started his career with Indo-Burma Petroleum as Sales Manager and then moved on to Balmer Lawrie & Co Limited where he attempted a turnaround of its cargo division, which at period of time was on the verge of closure. Shoummo, in fact, spearheaded the revival of the division and in the process remained in charge of it on an all India basis for four years from 1985 – 89.
Having successfully completed the turnaround of the Cargo Division, Shoummo joined Templeton College in Oxford to complete his Certificate in Marketing Management before taking up an assignment for the company to set up its business initiatives in United Kingdom and continental Europe. He was invited several times by the Templeton College in Oxford to address its students under the British Council programs. While in London, he was responsible for setting up Balmer Lawrie U.K., an international container leasing activity and also their tea trading and packaging activity in UK.
In 1994 Shoummo joined Indian Container Leasing Co. Ltd.(rechristened Transafe Services Private Ltd.), as its Managing Director and saw the Company’s turnover go up five folds and profit by ten times. ICLC gave Shoummo the opportunity to study the Indian transportation industry from within and helped develop his insight of the industry. While in ICLC Shoummo created an excellent relationship with Container Corporation of India who became ICLC’s largest customer. It also gave Shoummo a unique opportunity to understand CONCOR’s business dynamics. Shoummo, an experienced professional having an extensive and in depth knowledge and expertise in the field of surface transport, containerized cargo movement and logistic support and related systems and services, a pioneer in this field, envisaged and developed the project vision for implementation of the business presently being undertaken by the Company. With rich experience in transportation infrastructure and logistics, Shoummo, a charter member of TIE and past President of the Kolkata chapter, has addressed several industry sessions on the subject. He has been a member of the Working Group of the Planning Commission of India, to consider issues relating to logistics in the 11th Plan.

Mr. Viren Sinha a Post Graduate in Business Administration from Allahabad University, started his career with Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd. in the year 1980 as a Management Trainee. With over three decades of varied corporate experience, Mr. Sinha effectively handled diverse roles in Sales & Marketing, Operations and Materials Management. From 1995 to 2003 he skilfully handled the Balmer Lawrie (UK) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company where under his able leadership he turned around a loss making venture to a profit yielding concern. In 2004 he briefly left the Company to join Global Tea & Commodities Ltd. (GTCL) and thereafter Typhoo Tea Ltd. At GTCL he handled private labels and own brands managing reputed UK blue chip accounts, such as, Harrods, Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Tesco, etc. In 2006, after re-joining Balmer Lawrie he became the General Manager – Logistics Infrastructure of the Company(2008), thereafter getting elevated to the Board as Director [Service Businesses] (June 2010) he spearheaded various key business units of the Company – Logistics Infrastructure & Services, Tours & Travel and Tea. On 1st January, 2012 he took over as Chairman & Managing Director of the Company and superannuated in July 2015. Currently he is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of TKM Global Logistics Ltd.

Mr. Biplab Majumder graduated in Engineering from Jadavpur University and obtained an M.Tech degree from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur(1973).He has also been trained in Swedish School of Management, Stockholm, Sweden on General Management. He started his career with Indian oil Corporation in 1969 and before joining ABB Ltd in Feb, 1978, he had also worked for Indian Explosives Ltd , SAIL-Durgapur, Chemmetals,New Delhi.In his successful career of 42 years, he had been associated with ABB Ltd for 33 years years and finally retired as its Vice Chairman and Managing Director. He was also holding the position of President of ABB for the SAARC region and had been a member of ABB group Executive Forum – a forum of ABB top 50 international Managers. He also has been a member of CII Central Council and served in several Sub-committees.

Ex-Director (Finance) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a fortune 500 company, engaged in oil and gas sector. He has a vast experience in the industry of over 3 decades. Born on 15th August 1951, Mr Joshi is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He also holds an MBA degree from the University of Hull, UK. He has also served as Director on the Board of other group companies’ i.e Numaligarh Refineries, Bharat Petro Resourse, Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd. He was also Chairman Of Bharat Star Services Pvt Ltd & Bharat Renewable Energy Ltd.
During his long tenure in Oil Industry he was involved in several issues impacting the oil industry in India. He was a member of the study group formed for the purpose of preparing a long term perspective plan for the oil industry in India, which had come out with the report titled ‘Hydrocarbon Perspective : 2010 – Meeting the Challenges.’ He had also submitted a paper and made a presentation on Energy Security and how other nations have dealt with the same to the Advisory Committee on Synergy in Energy appointed by the Government of India.During his career in BPCL, he was a key member in setting up the Upstream business for the company. Being a part of the Investment committee, Mr. Joshi was instrumental in negotiating the Africa (Mozambique) Upstream Asset, which has turned out to be one of the world’s largest gas find of the decade. Currently, BPCL has a stake in 27 exploration blocks, both in India and abroad. The company has discovered large reserves of Oil & Gas in Africa & Brazil & is currently engaged in Developing these Oil & gas projects. Mr. Joshi was also involved in 2 grass root refinery projects i.e.; Numaligarh / Bina refinery. He also played a crucial role in the successful M & A transaction of Cochin refinery. Being an active member of CFO Forum, and various industry committees, he has participated in Finance & Industry forums. He also headed the Information Technology. He has joined as a director in eTrans Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Ashok has been an HR consultant for 15 years after almost 20 years of experience as a faculty member at the Administrative Staff College of India and as head of HR with Indian Oxygen and Balmer Lawrie. Ashok is a founding partner of Sumedhas – Academy for Human Context and ex-Chairman of the Indian Society for Individual and Social Development and Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd. He is currently on the board of eTrans Solutions Private Limited and Rane Engine Valves Limited.

Ateesh has rich experience in sales and distribution, business development, brand management and new product development. He started his career in eTrans as its first employee and worked closely with the management team till 2001 when he joined ITC Ltd. At ITC, Ateesh worked across a number of roles and functions between 2001 – 2005 before being seconded to the US as the National Marketing Manager. Ateesh left ITC in 2007 to join Citibank NA where he held a number of other positions at CitiCards between 2007 -2015 in areas such as Business Development, Segment Management, Cross-Sell and Product Innovation. Before agreeing to rejoin us, Ateesh was Head of Merchant Services and Payment Partnerships for Citibank NA. Ateesh holds an MBA from International Management Institute, New Delhi and a BA from Presidency College, Calcutta. He also holds a product patent for ‘Citi Price Rewind”, a price discovery mechanism, that was granted by the US Patent Office in August 2015.

Srikumar Menon was, until recently, the Managing Director, South Asia for the Linde Group, a 16 Billion Euro, multinational company headquartered in Munich, Germany. At the time of retirement he was responsible for Linde’s businesses in India (excluding LEI Baroda), Bangladesh and Sri Lanka (combined revenues more than Rs. 2000 crores) and was the non-executive Chairman of Ceylon Oxygen Company Ltd, Sri Lanka (a 100% Linde owned entity). He also served on the Boards of Linde Bangladesh Ltd, Bangladesh and Linde Global Support Services (P) Ltd, India. He began his career with Balmer Lawrie where he spent 16 years in the Finance function in various positions pan India. He has also worked at Balmer Lawrie Van Leer Ltd, and Pidilite Industries. Srikumar holds a B.Com degree and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Mr Surajit Ray is a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT (Kharagpur) and alumnus of Royal Institute of Public Administration – London. He has experience of multi- disciplinary exposure, specialising in Human Resource throughout his career spanning 50 years. Mr Ray started his career in IBP and after an early retirement in 1992, came on his own and worked as a coach & mentor-consultant to many top notched Corporates in India like Zydus Cadila Group & B K Birla Group , in the field of Human Resource & Organisational Behaviour. He is a professional member of NIPM , National HRD Network, Sumedhas, a Life Member of ISTD and Founder Member of an NGO for the Homeless Mentally Ill– Ishwar SANKALPA. Mr Ray has been associated with eTrans as a HR Consultant from 2011.

Mr . Ashish Kumar Gupta is the Managing Director of Texmaco Rail & Engineering since January 2022. He had joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1993 after graduating from IIT (Roorkee) and worked in various positions in mines, Ferro Alloys division and steel plant operations from 1993 to 2008. From 2009 to 2017 he has managed the supply chain and logistics for Tata Steel as Chief, Customer Service Division & Logistics. He has also been Managing Director of TMILL (Tata Steel JV), Chairman of TKM India and ISL, Dubai, which are subsidiaries of TMILL in areas of Freight Forwarding and Shipping respectively, from May 2017 to November 2020.
